AS 3798-2007 Guidelines on earthworks for commercial and residential developments (the code).
A site classification according to AS2870 Residential Slabs and Footings applies to residential dwellings, however it has become a nominal standard for assessing sites for larger projects.
In early 2017 a change was made to the Australian Standard when undertaking CBR testing. From then on the curing times for some soils when undertaking CBR testing was extended to reflect the difference between the Field Moisture Content (FMC) of a soil and its Optimum Moisture Content (OMC).
When asked “How strong is that rock?” I usually respond with “what is the reason you want to know the rock strength?”. The approach we take to assessing rock strength will to some degree depend on that reason..
